What does a Punch Needling Workshop involve?
A group punch needle workshop is a wonderful way to learn a new, meditative craft in a fun and social setting. It's designed to be accessible for complete beginners, making it a popular choice for teambuilding events.
The instructor will explain the different types of tools and materials, including the punch needle itself, the fabric and the yarn. You'll be shown how to thread the needle and the correct technique for punching through the fabric to create loops.
You’ll be provided with all the necessary materials, including a pre-stretched hoop, a selection of yarns, and a punch needle tool to use during the session. You can get creative and sketch your own design onto the fabric.
A key part of the experience is learning to create different textures and effects. You'll discover how to vary the length of your loops to add dimension and how to create flat stitches by working on the reverse side of the fabric. The instructor will guide you through the process, offering one-on-one help and tips as you work on your piece.
